Puddings, Custards, Sauces...


Dorothy’s Dirt Cake                         Nancy Mack
20 oz pkg Oreos (crushed)            2 pkg chocolate pudding
½ cup butter            3 cup milk
8 oz  cream cheese            8 oz Cool Whip
1 cup powdered sugar            gummy worms.

Cream together butter cream cheese & powdered sugar. In another bowl, combine pudding & milk. Let thicken. Fold Cool Whip into the pudding mixture.
Fold cream cheese mixture in pudding mixture. Place 1/3 of crumbs on bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Spread ½ filling. Sprinkle 1/3 of crumbs on filling. Spread remainder filling. Layer remainder crumbs on top. Garnish with gummy worms. Refrigerate overnight.

(Also known as better than Robert Redford desert)
1st layer:
1 cup flour            Preheat oven to 350°. Mix together.
½ cup melted butter            Press in a 9 x 13 pan.
½ cup chopped nuts (optional)            Bake about 10 min.  Cool.
2nd Layer:
8 oz pkg cream cheese            Mix together.
1 cup powdered sugar            Spread over 1st layer.
1 cup Cool Whip
3rd Layer:
2 boxes of instant chocolate pudding            Mix well.
3 cup milk            Allow to thicken.
1 tsp vanilla            Spread over 2nd layer.
4th layer:
Cool Whip            Spread Cool Whip over all.
chocolate shavings or nuts.            Garnish with chocolate or nuts.

Alternative:  use butterscotch pudding.

Willard’s Rhubarb Tapioca Sauce            Nancy Mack
5 cup cut rhubarb            Minute Tapioca
water            1 pkg frozen strawberries, slightly thawed
3 cup sugar            1 pkg strawberry Jell-O
Half cover rhubarb with water. Cook on stove until it looks soft. Add sugar. Boil another 5 min. Add Tapioca, stirring slowly, until it looks thickened. Cook another 3 min. Add strawberries and Jell-O. Stir.


Layered Pudding Dessert                        Marlin & Sally Fjordbak
1 cup crushed vanilla wafers            Grease 8x8 pan with non-stick spray.
3 oz pkg cook and serve vanilla pudding            Spread wafters in bottom of pan.
2 bananas            Prepare pudding according to box dir.
1 (3 oz) strawberry Jell-O            Spoon over wafer crust. Let cool.
1 cup Cool Whip            Slice bananas over pudding.
            Prepare Jell-O according to directions. Pour carefully over bananas. Let set in refrigerator until Jell-O is set.
Top with Cool Whip.
